Aquamarine is the birthstone for March. Sometimes called the "Mermaid's Treasure" because of its colour reminiscent of the ocean, it is known for its calming, soothing properties.

How this jewellery was made ↓
Hand made using traditional methods. The stone setting was created by fitting a thin strip of fine silver around the stone to make a triangular band which was then soldered to a sheet of sterling silver and cut around with a piercing saw. It was filed and sanded before soldering a ring of hammered silver to the top. The piece was placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch, followed by lots of cleaning and polishing to give the pendant its lovely sheen. The stone was placed in its setting and the silver bezel shaped over to hold it in place, and burnished.
