Garnet Silver Stud Earrings

Hand crafted using traditional methods. The stone settings were created by fitting a strip of fine silver bezel around each stone to make little rings, which were then soldered to sheet sterling silver and then cut round, filed and sanded. Sterling silver posts were then soldered to the backs of each one and then they were placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch, followed by lots of cleaning and polishing to give the earrings their lovely sheen. The stones were then placed in the settings and the silver bezel pushed in to hold them in place and the settings were burnished and given a final polish.
