Turquoise in Hammered Silver Domes Dangly Earrings

Hand crafted using traditional methods. Two silver circles were ccut from sheet sterling silver, filed and sanded, textured by hammering and then domed. The stone settings were created by fitting fine silver bezel strip around each stone and making little rings, which were then soldered into the domes. Next they were placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch, then lots of cleaning and polishing to give the silver its lovely sheen. Lastly the stones were placed in the settings and the silver was bezel pushed over to hold the stones in place and the settings were burnished before hanging each one on a hook wire.
