Round Winter Tree Silver Pendant Necklace

This handmade silver pendant is inspired by the resilience of nature through the winter months. The leaves have fallen in response to the shorter days and colder temperatures, laying bare the skeletal structure, seemingly lifeless. But in its dormancy, while sunlight is limited and the ground is frozen, the tree conserves energy for the duration of the season, biding its time until new buds form and growth begins again in spring.
The round pendant is crafted in recycled sterling silver, the design captures the silhouette of bare branches reaching into an open sky and the silver surface reflects the light like frost on bark, while the flowing lines echo the natural rhythm found in the landscape during the colder months.
This piece is individually hand-forged using traditional silversmithing techniques, giving it an organic character that can never be replicated. No two will ever be exactly the same, making it a truly one-of-a-kind pendant for someone who values individuality and design inspired by nature.

How this jewellery was made ↓
Handmade using traditional silversmithing methods. Two circles were cut from a sheet of sterling silver. A hole was drilled and the tree design hand-cut using a jewellers' piercing saw. After filing and sanding to remove the rough edges, thetwo pieces were sweat-soldered together. A small length of silver was formed into an arch and soldered to the back to form a hidden bail. The piece was then placed in a warm pickling bath to remove the fire scale caused by the heat from the blowtorch. After this the pendant was cleaned and polished to give it its lovely shine and a patina added to darken the tree design.
