Autumn Leaves Silver Pendant Necklace

Handmade using traditional silversmithing methods. The tiny leaves were cut from sheets of sterling silver, copper and brass with a jewellers' piercing saw. After filing and sanding to remove the rough edges, they were soldered to the prepared silver rectangle. A hole was then drilled, cut, snaded and filed for fitting the bail. A small length of silver was formed into a bail and added to the pendant and soldered. The piece was then placed in a warm pickling bath to remove the fire scale caused by the heat from the blowtorch. After this the pendant was cleaned and polished to give it its lovely shine.
